The Sounders went bold with their new look — The Jimi Hendrix Kit — and the internet appreciated the effort. While there were mixed opinions on the early leak, it seems as if most people have done a 180 and are now big fans of the jersey.
Past and present Sounders alike are singing the kit’s praises on social media.

No one is a bigger fan of the new look than Nico Lodeiro. He showed his support all over Instagram and Twitter today. And you have to say, the man does look great in purple.
The Sounders sent out some PR boxes to celebrate the launch, complete with personalized jerseys and a scarf influenced by Hendrix’s iconic guitar strap.
Macklemore’s jersey came with a special note from Jordan Morris - “Adversity can't hold us back. Thank you for all the continued support. Seattle Love!”
Sounder at Heart’s own, Jeremiah Oshan, got in on the influencer action, as well.
After the initial leak, it looked like the new jersey would be an acquired taste, but it seems like the internet has acquired that taste pretty fast. Just to add a bit more data to the anecdotes, a club spokesperson told us that MLSstore.com sold out of its initial supply of both men’s authentic and replica shirts in about three hours and that this was the most jerseys the Sounders have ever sold in a single day in their history.
