CHICAGO– DePaul track & field wrapped up the first day of the Louisville Invitational on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. The Blue Demons participated in the men's and women's hammer throw and discus. DePaul's top finish was logged by Rebecca Chouinard who finished third in the women's hammer throw.
Chouinard placed in third with a mark of 54.30m while DePaul's McKenna Orie placed fourth in the women's discus. The meet is the Blue Demons first of the outdoor season after hosting a lone indoor meet this spring where Orie was able to set a new school record in the shot put.
On the men's side of the field events for the Blue Demons, Alex Murray finished eighth in both the hammer throw and the discus.
The Blue Demons will have a slew of athletes featured in tomorrow's action on the track. The action resumes at 11 a.m. tomorrow with the men's shot put and events on the track start at noon.
