The Baltimore Ravens had what most analysts are calling a star-studded, A-plus-caliber draft — or at least something among those lines. Point is, the organization has received almost universal praise.

A total of 11 new players were added to the roster this past weekend ranging from high-profile first-round picks such as Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum to lesser-known Day 3 picks like Damarion Williams and Tyler Badie.

The hope is that these 11 players could form a foundation for the next generation of the Ravens organization. The plan is for at least a couple of these players to establish themselves as long-term building blocks.

Of course, not all of them are going to hit, but there are reasons to be optimistic about every pick. Let’s take a look at the Ravens’ complete 2022 NFL Draft class.

The Ravens’ 2022 NFL Draft class is absolutely loaded

  • Round 1, 14th overall: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
  • Round 1, 25th overall: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
  • Round 2, 45th overall: David Ojabo, OLB, Michigan
  • Round 3, 76th overall: Travis Jones, DT, Connecticut
  • Round 4, 110th overall: Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
  • Round 4, 119th overall: Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB, Alabama
  • Round 4, 128th overall: Charlie Kolar, TE, Iowa State
  • Round 4, 130th overall: Jordan Stout, P, Penn State
  • Round 4, 139th overall: Isaiah Likely, TE, Coastal Carolina
  • Round 4, 141st overall: Damarion Williams, CB, Houston
  • Round 6, 196th overall: Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri

After drafting star Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton with the 14th overall pick, the Ravens traded back into the first round to select Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum.

With Hamilton and Linderbaum, the Ravens were able to land two players who were the consensus top prospects at their respective positions. Not just in this draft, either, but two of the best prospects at their positions in recent memory.

Both players will be day-one starters and ideally serve as franchise cornerstones for the foreseeable future.

On Day 2, the Ravens were able to make a pair of excellent value picks on defense in David Ojabo and Travis Jones. Jones is an instant-impact contributor who was widely seen as a steal at 76 while Ojabo provides a high ceiling as a pass rusher upon his return from injury.

Armed with six fourth-round picks, the Ravens actually used every single selection on Day 3. They added a monstrous offensive tackle in Daniel Faalele, two developmental cornerbacks in Jalyn Armour-Davis and Damarion Williams, two stud tight ends in Charlie Kolar and Isaiah Likely, and a new punter in Jordan Stout.

Faalele will help provide much-needed tackle depth with the chance to develop into the team’s long-term answer at right tackle. Armour-Davis and Williams also provide all-important cornerback depth and could compete for snaps right away.

The Ravens didn’t feel the value was there at wide receiver, instead opting to add a pair of tight ends with significant upside as receivers. Meanwhile, Stout will serve as the heir apparent to longtime punter Sam Koch.

Tyler Badie in the sixth round is a Day 3 flyer who should compete for the RB3 role on the team along with the likes of Justice Hill and Ty’Son Williams. He will have every chance to stick this summer.

The Ravens landed some highly-touted prospects and some excellent value picks in what could be a franchise-altering 2022 NFL Draft. Fans should be overjoyed with the team’s haul.
