Dakota MacIntosh scored four goals Saturday as Fairbanks thumped Anchorage 9-3 to give the Ice Dogs a two-game sweep of the Wolverines at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks.
Fairbanks (18-5-0-0), which leads the Midwest Division, scored two goals in the first period, three in the second and then four unanswered goals in the first 7:48 of the third period to turn the game into a blowout. Defenseman Nolan Cunningham had three assists for the Ice Dogs, who scored on three of four power plays. Goalie Tyler Krivtsov stopped 24 shots for Fairbanks.
Anchorage (13-8-1-0) got goals from Jackson Reineke, Cameron Morris and Talon Sigurdson, who leads the North American Hockey League with 20 goals. Goaltender Shane Soderwall made 20 saves for the Wolverines.
On Friday, the Ice Dogs beat the Wolverines 4-2 at the Big Dipper, where Fairbanks is leading the league in attendance with an average of 2,207 fans per game.
