NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles used a 16-2 run in the final minutes to seal an 81-61 win over the Fairfield Stags on Saturday to complete the season sweep.

Game Summary
A day after posting their largest win in the series in 26 seasons, the Purple Eagles surpassed yesterday's win margin by three points to tie their largest win in the series since the 1994-95 season. The Purple Eagles ended the final 3:15 on a 16-2 run to take a six-point lead into a 20-point victory.

The Stags, who trailed since the two-minute mark of the first half, remained in striking distance throughout the second half. After a pair of free throws cut Niagara's lead to six points with 3:31 remaining, the Purple Eagles responded with a flurry. The Purple Eagles posted an 11-0 run in two minutes, going 4-for-4 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. The run was capped by an example of team ball. It started on the defensive end when Justin Roberts hustled to steal the ball and saved it to a Kobi Nwandu, who pushed the ball up the court to Marcus Hammond who then fed a streaking Jordan Cintron for an uncontested dunk. A Roberts 3-pointer and a Cintron layup concluded the scoring in the run.

The opening stanza was close throughout and witnessed four ties and seven lead changes. Niagara scored the final four points of the first half to erase a one-point deficit for a 37-34 halftime lead.
