There are a number of important injury situations for Sunday’s games to be aware of heading into your fantasy football championships, so let’s jump right in to the report.
The most notable last-minute news saw the Cleveland Browns place wide receivers Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, and Donovan Peoples-Jones on the COVID-19 injured reserve list as high-risk close contacts. Marvin Hall is now the best option on the depth chart.
The Giants will have Daniel Jones under center this week for a tough game against the Ravens. It’s an upgrade over Colt McCoy, and should translate to some better numbers for the team’s receivers. However, you should avoid Jones in fantasy lineups. Alex Smith got in a full practice on Friday, but it’s still not clear if he’ll be ready to play when Washington takes on the Panthers. They’ll evaluate Smith after Saturday’s walkthrough before making a decision.
Christian McCaffrey hasn’t been officially ruled out, but he’s not playing this week. The Panthers will lean on Mike Davis one more week. Ezekiel Elliott is expected to return, but Tony Pollard is playing better now and has more fantasy value with Elliott likely not back to 100 percent. Antonio Gibson was practicing this week with Washington, but he’s likely a game-time decision. J.D. McKissic might be a better bet. The Jags let James Robinson sit out practice this week with the hope that some rest would help get him ready to play, but decided on Saturday to rule him out for Sunday’s game.
No Julio Jones for the Falcons this week means more work for Calvin Ridley against the Chiefs. We’ve seen Matt Ryan really struggle at times without Jones on the field, so there’s something to consider before setting your lineups.
The Bears will have Allen Robinson in the lineup this week, but Cordarelle Patterson might not play. Washington’s offense will take a further hit without Terry McLaurin this week.
As always, be sure to check the news before locking in your lineups. Good luck!
