The investigation into allegations of misconduct on the Justice League set, first raised by Cyborg actor Ray Fisher, is over. Fisher first spoke out in July about issues he experienced on set. Fisher said director Joss Whedon's behavior was "gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable," and added that Whedon was enabled by former DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns and producer Jon Berg. In the months that followed, Warner Bros. launched an official investigation into the matter as Fisher and the studio fought publicly about his claims.
The issue stems from the Justice League reshoots that were overseen by Whedon after the original director, Zack Snyder, stepped down from the project. The reshoots were already controversial, as many fans believe they changed the overall tone, direction, and message of the movie too much. The final result was a cobbled-together film with which no one was particularly happy. So when reports emerged about the chaotic behind-the-scenes environment after Whedon took control, it only further stoked fans' ire.
Now, Fisher has announced that Warner Bros. completed its investigation and it led to remedial action, adding, "Some we’ve seen, and some...is still to come." He didn't share any specifics about the results of the investigation or the remedial action that was taken, but he did share a statement from Warner Bros. that reads:
“WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for it’s [sic] employees and partners.”
The following was relayed to me on behalf of @WarnerMedia at 5pm EST today:
- The investigation of Justice League is now complete.
- It has lead to remedial action.

There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement on this journey.
We are on our way.
More soon.

In the past, Fisher has been vocal and specific about his experiences, so his hesitance to reveal too many details right now could mean he's satisfied with the investigation results; it seems unlikely that Fisher would keep quiet if he thought the investigation was unfair. In September, when Warner Bros. publicly stated Fisher was not cooperating with their investigation and refused to meet with their investigator, Fisher quickly—and, like Warner Bros., publicly—responded and provided evidence that he had, in fact, spoken to them. Fisher has maintained throughout this whole process that he's simply looking for accountability (his tweets about the issue always ends with "A>E," which stands for "accountability>entertainment"). If Warner Bros. didn't deliver on the accountability front, Fisher likely would have spoken up.
Still, the lack of details is odd, given how Warner Bros. and Fisher spoke openly about the investigation as it was being conducted. It's possible Fisher is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, or that Warner Bros. is waiting until a more opportune time to release their findings. Warner Bros. recently landed itself in the middle of a huge controversy among filmmakers after the studio announced it would release all of its 2021 films on HBO Max on the same day they debut in theaters. And they're likely hesitant to distract from the release of Wonder Woman 1984 in just two weeks, which is the first film in—and, in many ways, the test case for—the HBO Max deal. Johns also executive produced and co-wrote the screenplay for Wonder Woman 1984, so if Warner Bros. took remedial action against Johns, that would only further distract from the film's premiere. Whatever the case, with Fisher's promise of "more [information] soon," it seems very likely that the results of the Justice League reshoots investigation, and its consequences, will be made public in the near future.
