UND to require employees to complete online COVID-19 training - Grand Forks Herald

UND employees will be required to complete a mandatory online training related to the university’s COVID-19 safety measures.

Meloney Linder, vice president of marketing and communications, said the university has been sending out a lot of information about what the campus is doing to keep community members safe from COVID-19. The training ensures that faculty and staff understand what’s expected this fall.

“The effort is to keep everybody safe,” she said.

The training is about 40 to 45 minutes long and includes a 10-question assessment, according to a post on UND’s coronavirus blog.

All employees must complete the training prior to returning to campus, but no later than Aug. 31.

Students also will be asked to watch a video so they understand what’s expected of them. That video will be available next week, Linder said.

The university has been holding town hall meetings this week to answer faculty and staff questions. The meetings were conducted via Zoom and will be available on the UND website.

Meetings are being planned to answer questions from students and parents, who may have concerns about the upcoming school year. Those meetings will be scheduled for mid-August, closer to the university’s Aug. 24 start date.

Campus community members will be asked to wear face coverings while on campus as one precaution, along with increased sanitation efforts and fewer students in the physical classroom.
