This week, Jack Resnick & Sons unveiled a newly renovated ground-floor lobby at Gracie Mews, a 35-story residential building at 401 East 80th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The renovations were designed and completed by Specter DeSouza Architects with R.P. Brennan General Contractors & Construction Managers.
The lobby now includes custom wood wall panels fabricated and installed by architectural woodworking studio Bauerschmidt & Sons, warm lighting throughout, two new lounge areas with expanded seating, an expressive concierge desk, and an expanded resident mail and package room. The scope of work also included updates to the port cochère and an adjacent living green wall.

Gracie Mews was built by Jack Resnick & Sons in 1980 and designed by architect Philip Birnbaum. In addition to 310 rental apartments, the property contains a rooftop health club and pool, a children’s playroom, a communal lounge, on-site parking, bike storage, and a privately owned public space known as Steel Park.
Jack Resnick & Sons’ Manhattan portfolio currently includes Symphony House at 235 West 56th Street and The Oxford Houses at 430-434 East 72nd Street, also residential buildings. The developer’s commercial office and retail footprint spans approximately six million square feet and includes One Seaport Plaza and 199 Water Street, among others.
