Delawareans can still see fireworks this Fourth of July weekend despite the coronavirus pandemic canceling many public events across the state.
Several events were canceled before Gov. John Carney began lifting restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only six permits were issued to have firework displays, a much lower amount than years before, Delaware's State Fire Marshal office said.
Two of those events have since been canceled, as have celebrations in Dover and Bethany Beach, according to organizers' announcements. Lewes postponed its festivities until the fall.
These shows are still on:
Dewey Beach
Highway One Group, which owns local businesses like The Rusty Rudder and the Bottle & Cork, will host a fireworks show on July 4th.
The show starts around 9 p.m. on the bayside in front of Northbeach on McKinnley Street.
Patrons at bars and restaurants along the bayside in Dewey can see the fireworks, the company said. There will be no additional parking. People are urged to walk or a trolley service will be available
Treasure Beach in Selbyville
The RV park and campground has planned two fireworks shows on June 27 and July 3, said a Facebook post.
The post says the campground follows the same Gov. Carney's COVID-19 guidelines for state parks.
Fat Daddy's BBQ near Georgetown
The restaurant on Seashore Highway will host live music and a fireworks show on July 4th. The night will start off with music from Mike Hines at 7 p.m. then fireworks at 9:15 p.m. from Bridgeville's Brothers Pyro.
