The Arsenal deals Mikel Arteta and Edu aim to complete after securing 27.4m cash injection - Football.London

Arsenal's summer transfer window is firmly in full swing with William Saliba's new contract one of four deals confirmed by the club in the past week.

Whilst the France international and Reiss Nelson will be part of the first-team picture for next season, both Pablo Mari and Granit Xhaka have moved on permanently having joined Monza and Bayer Leverkusen respectively thus earning the Gunners a combined £27.4million windfall.

They follow on from Ainsley Maitland-Niles and several players across the men's and women's first-team, Under-23s, and Under-18s squads and scholars leaving on free transfers in addition to Nikolaj Moller joining St Gallen permanently as well as season-long loan deals being confirmed for Catalin Cirjan and Mazeed Ogungbo.

But Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar are not done. Having already signed Kai Havertz, the plan is to ensure the Arsenal first-team squad is strong enough to compete for the Premier League title next season as well as going far as possible in both domestic cup competitions and the Champions League.

In fact, developments and reports from the past 24 hours or so alone indicate that the Gunners pair are extremely busy at the moment and football.london runs down what deals are currently in play as it looks like it's just a matter of time before there are more announcements to delight supporters.

New signings

It was reported on Tuesday evening that the Gunners and West Ham United had finally reached a full agreement over the transfer of Declan Rice. At £105million, the England international will become a club-record signing and the most expensive British player ever, eclipsing Jack Grealish's £100million move to Manchester City.

All signs point towards Rice becoming an Arsenal player sooner rather than later amid widespread reports of him undergoing a medical on Friday. But will he be announced before or alongside Jurrien Timber? This deal is also close to completing after an agreement with Ajax was struck last Wednesday.

Outgoings

As revealed by football.london earlier in the week, the Gunners are open to selling Thomas Partey, Nicolas Pepe, Cedric Soares, Folarin Balogun, Auston Trusty, Nuno Tavares and Runar Alex Runarsson in the summer transfer window if a suitable offer comes in. Meanwhile, Albert Sambi Lokonga has gone on record stating he would be open to a departure in order to play regularly next season.

As things stand, there's nothing that suggests deals are in place for any of the aforementioned players but Sturm Graz director Andreas Schicker has recently confirmed his side are in talks with Arsenal over a second loan deal for Arthur Okonkwo, but has also revealed his side face competition from some unnamed clubs in England for the goalkeeper's signature.

"We are still in the running for another loan, but there are also inquiries for him on the English market," said Schicker, as per Austrian news site Laola1. "The tendency for goalkeepers is also young and capable of development."

What do you make of Declan Rice's value?
