"We believe this schedule will challenge us and put us in the best position to be ready for conference play and the Mountain West Championships," said CSU head coach Mai-Ly Tran, entering her second season. "We are extremely excited to host 10 home events this year to be able to play in front of our dedicated supporters."
The Rams hosted just four events a season ago. The first home appearance comes during the fall tournament season, with the return of the Jon Messick Invitational next weekend, running Sept. 30-Oct. 2. As that tournament closes, a few of the players will head to the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., the first time the program has been represented at the prestigious event.
The Rams will participate in at least two more tournaments before the fall concludes.
The second half of the season begins with the team on the Front Range, starting with a dual at Denver on Jan. 28, followed by the first home date of the spring as they host San Francisco on Jan. 5. On the road, the team will take on a pair of ranked teams from a season ago, Nebraska (Feb. 10) and Florida Atlantic (Mar. 11)
Also at home this year, CSU will host BYU (Feb. 18), Brown (Feb. 20), Buffalo (Mar. 15) and Creighton (Mar. 19) in non-conference play.
The Rams begin Mountain West play on the road at Fresno, Calif., where they will face the host Bulldogs and rival Wyoming on March 24-25. Conference home dates for the Rams include San Jose State (April 1), Nevada (April 2), New Mexico (April 21) and Air Force (April 22).
The Mountain West Championships will be played April 26-29 at a site to be announced.
Colorado State is coming off the most successful season in program history, posting a 15-8 dual record and a berth in the Mountain West semifinals. Radka Buzkova returns as an All-Mountain West selection in both singles and doubles. Her 26 doubles victories set the program single-season record, while her 25 singles wins rank third all-time for a single season and her winning percentage of .833 ranking second. Sarka Richterova had 22 doubles wins, tied for fourth-best.
