The holiday season is here, and Irving has a full calendar.
Here’s our full list of holiday happenings in and around Irving:
Holiday in the Plaza
10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 4, Levy Event Plaza, 501 E. Las Colinas Blvd.
Shop with more than 40 holidays vendors, ride a ferris wheel overlooking Lake Carolyn and go ice skating to favorite holiday songs. Crafts, face painters, a caricature artist and plenty of photo opportunities will be on hand. Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Irving Police and Fire departments’ Blue Christmas Drive.
Tree lighting ceremony and parade
6 p.m. Dec. 4, Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St.
This year’s parade, with a theme of “Rudolph, Light the Way,” will showcase lighted floats along Second Street and Irving Boulevard in the city’s Heritage District. The parade will culminate with the tree lighting ceremony at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy photos with Santa, caricature artists, an ice carver demonstration, live music and food vendors.
Centennial Park lights
Dec. 4-26, 444 W. 2nd St.
Centennial Park will dazzle with 60,000 lights, including a lit walkway to keep the path visible after dark. Staff will be on-site 24/7, and portable restaurants are available. Bike riding through the display is not permitted.
Movie night
6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and Dec. 17, Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St.
Heritage Park will transform into an outdoor movie theater, with free showings of Elf on Dec. 10 and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Dec. 17. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, and enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant or on-site food trucks.
Brunch-Mas
11 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 11, Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Irving for a holiday brunch. Food vendors will be on-site, and family photos with Santa will be available.
Miracle on West Fork
6-10 p.m. nightly through Dec. 30, 387 West Fork
A penthouse at Alesio Urban Center is decorated with a Gingerbread Village theme, including three Christmas trees, Santa’s workshop and thousands of twinkly lights. Visitors can expect a snow machine and Christmas music. Santa will stop by on Dec. 18, and visitors can donate toys to Irving’s Blue Christmas.
Carol-oke
5:30-8 p.m. Dec. 18, Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St.
For a seasonal spin on karaoke night, head to Carol-oke. Bring family and friends to sing along or jump on stage and lead the group in your favorite holiday carol.
Breakfast with Santa
8-11 a.m. Dec. 4, 11, 18, 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd.
Santa Claus is coming to breakfast at LAW at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. Kids can bring their Christmas lists or write him a letter in the hotel lobby before feasting on French toast and breakfast burgers. To make a reservation, call 972-717-2420.
