DURHAM – Duke women's tennis played in several back-and-forth matches and wrapped up the second day of action at the Fall Ranked Spotlight in Cary, N.C., and the Kitty Harrison Invitational, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Fall Ranked Spotlight
With no main draw singles matches remaining, the Blue Devils came out hungry in the consolation and compass draws. Chloe Beck, a junior ranked No. 28 nationally, got back to what she did so often during the 2020-21 season, beating an ACC opponent in No. 111 Jaeda Daniel of NC State. Beck bounced back from an early deficit to win a nail-biting tiebreaker in lieu of a third set, to win 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
Beck kept the day going with a more convincing victory in the semifinal, cruising past Virginia's Elaine Chervinsky, 6-4, 6-2. Her win sets up a Sunday clash in the compass draw north final, against No. 7 Irina Cantos of Ohio State.
The final highlight of the day came from senior Margaryta Bilokin, who matched her teammate Emma Jackson's win yesterday against the same player, beating No. 49 Sophie Abrams of NC State, 6-3, 6-2. The win capped off a 3-1 day against ACC opponents for the Blue Devils.

Coleman and senior Kelly Chen would take the court for singles, with Coleman securing another strong win in her budding collegiate career. Coleman advances to play for fifth place in her highly competitive draw, with a matchup against Charlotte's Lucia Quitero set for Sunday.
