The day began with doubles and saw the four Blue Devil duos go 7-1 on the day. The win of the day came early in flight one, with the first-time pairing of Chloe Beck and Ellie Coleman defeating the No. 41 ranked team in the nation of Emma Antonaki and Tamara Racine of Mississippi State, 6-2. Beck and Coleman would add another win to advance to the final of flight one with a 6-3 decision over Wake Forest's Samantha Martinelli and Peyton Pesavento.
Coleman and Beck went on to complete undefeated days in singles, with Coleman taking down No. 22 Emma Antonaki, 6-2, 6-2. It was the first marquee singles win in Coleman's collegiate career as her opponent was coming off a season in which she reached the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championship.
Not to be outdone, fellow freshman Emma Jackson also went undefeated, combining with Georgia Drummy to win both doubles matches over opponents from Ohio State and Vanderbilt, before winning her singles match 6-1, 6-2 over Tennessee's Tenika McGiffin. Beck, Coleman and Jackson were joined by Kelly Chen and Eliza Omirou as the five undefeated Blue Devils on the day.
Senior Margaryta Bilokin reached a personal milestone, winning two of her three matches to reach 100 wins as a Blue Devil. The New Canaan, Conn., native cruised in her opening singles and doubles matches, defeating Elise Mills of South Carolina, 6-0, 6-2, and Jess Dawson and Ellie Schoppe from Furman, 6-0, with Karolina Berankova.
The Blue Devils will return to the courts on Saturday at 9 a.m., as Beck and Coleman, Chen and Omirou and Drummy and Jackson will look to win their respective doubles flights, while all eight continue their singles runs.
