COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State has known since May its home and road Big Ten opponents and now, the Buckeyes have dates for those games as the Big Ten Conference announced the 2021-22 conference schedule on Wednesday.

For the fifth-consecutive season, the conference portion of the schedule will start on the first weekend of December. The Buckeyes open on the road at Penn State on Sunday, Dec. 5. They will then return home to host Wisconsin on Dec. 11 before completing the non-conference portion of their schedule the rest of the month.
The resumption of Big Ten play starts with a pair of road trips to Nebraska and Indiana at the start of January. Other road trips in January include Wisconsin, Minnesota and Purdue. The lone matchups this season with Rutgers and Illinois also comes on the road.
The home portion of the 2022 schedule starts on Jan. 9 vs. Northwestern. The only matchup with Iowa this season will be on Feb. 3 in Columbus and Minnesota and Indiana come to town in mid-February as well. The regular season wraps up with a pair of huge matchups in Columbus with Michigan State (March 3) and Michigan (March 6). Nine of the Buckeyes final 11 opponents made the NCAA Tournament last year.
TV assignments and start times for all games will be announced later this fall.
The Big Ten Tournament returns to Indianapolis and Bankers Life Fieldhouse on March 9-13. This will be the 12th time the tournament has been held in Indianapolis. The Buckeyes have played in the championship game in seven of the 11 previous times the tournament has been in Indy, including winning the title in 2002, 2010 and 2011.
Ohio State, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Chris Holtmann, returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from last year’s team that finished 21-10, advanced to the championship of the Big Ten Tournament and made its third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Buckeyes have won 20 or more games in each of the last four seasons under Holtmann.
