More than 1,200 households and businesses in the Princeton region were still without power on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. due to the Saturday storm that knocked down trees, utility poles, and power lines. As of 7 p.m. Sunday, about 200 homes and businesses in the region were still without power.
Most of the remaining outages are in Lawrence, where about 1,000 households and businesses were still without power Sunday morning. In Princeton, Ewing, Trenton, Pennington, Hopewell, Montogomery, and South Brunswick, a few dozen PSE&G customers are still without power. PSE&G power restoration estimates range from noon to 8 p.m.
Just before 11:30 a.m., Mercer Street and Washington Road were re-opened in Princeton. Quaker Road was opened just after 2:30 p.m.
In Lawrence, Route 206 opened again in the late afternoon Sunday. A few roads are still closed due to storm damage:
-Carter Road is closed between Carson Road and Route 206.
-Cold Soil Road is closed between Blackwell Road and Keefe Road.
Plan alternate routes. Police are asking drivers to not drive around barricades, and to avoid downed or low-hanging wires and tree branches.
