The Cleveland Browns are definitely attracting positive media attention in this 2021 offseason.

Media analysts who for years have critiqued the team’s choices are now talking about how GM Andrew Berry is pulling everything together.

This is the second year in a row that Berry’s offseason moves earned rave reviews.

Add ESPN’s Ryan Clark and Chris Canty to the list that are talking about how formidable the Browns should be in 2021.

What They Said

Clark puts the Browns and the Buffalo Bills in strong contention with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC.

He says they are among the top three in the AFC.

Canty implies that the Browns’ learning curve is over, and he takes it one step further by saying the Browns are the most complete team in the NFL.

It is now or never because the pieces are now in place.

He concludes by saying that it is up to Baker.

They Are Right

This is arguably one of the best rosters the Browns have ever had.

Whereas in 2020, their depth, particularly on defense, was questionable, Berry has filled the gaps with the likes of free agents Jadeveon Clowney, Takk McKinley, Troy Brown, John Johnson III, and Malik Jackson.

On top of that, the Browns drafted Greg Newsome II, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Tommy Togiai, and Tony Fields II.

A few offensive weapons were drafted later in the rounds including Anthony Schwartz and Demetric Felton.

Pressure Is On

The Browns were under the radar this year and turned in a surprise season while the focus was on the division-leading Steelers who steamrolled to an 11-0 record.

That won’t be the case this season.

Everyone will be watching the Browns, and their schedule will be more difficult because of last season’s successes.

We will soon find out the season schedule, due to be released on Wednesday, May 12.

Baker Must Perform Well

The other point analysts agree on is that Baker needs to continue his growth from last season.

His expectations are also high because he will have the same coaching staff for a second straight season.

That is a big deal because he never had coaching continuity past one season since he arrived in Cleveland.

Baker also enters the fourth year of his rookie contract knowing that his fifth-year option is exercised; his future beyond the 2022 season is yet to be determined.

How Is Baker Preparing?

Jarvis Landry has been working out in Florida this offseason at the House of Athlete Complex.

Baker Mayfield traveled from Texas to Florida to throw with Landry and other Browns teammates.

Others who participated in the throwing sessions were Rashard Higgins, David Njoku, Austin Hooper, and Kyle Markaway.

Stay tuned for more exciting Cleveland Browns offseason happenings with the schedule reveal being the first one up on Wednesday, May 12 at 8 pm EDT on NFL Network.
