Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said Wednesday that the city's stay-at-home order is still in place, meaning Milwaukee bars and restaurants are still barred from reopening.
Barrett's announcement came soon after the Wisconsin Supreme Court's decision to strike down Gov. Tony Evers' stay-at-home order aimed at limiting the spread of coronavirus.
Barrett said that the court's decision had no effect on the public health order issued by the City of Milwaukee Health Department in March.
"That order remains in effect, including all provisions on public gatherings, restaurants, and bar operations," Barrett said in a statement.
Bars, restaurants and taverns in the city are still allowed to provide takeout, curbside pick-up and delivery.
There is no end date to Milwaukee's order; it will be in effect until it is "extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Health Commissioner," according to the order itself, which can be read in full here.

Milwaukee officials have been working with other nearby local governments to finalize separate guidelines setting limits for how local businesses could reopen.
Milwaukee is not the only local government keeping stay-at-home provisions in place, or establishing new rules.
Dane County Executive Joe Parisi tweeted Wednesday night that officials there had issued a local public health order keeping stay-at-home guidelines in place throughout Dane County through May 26th, the date that Evers' statewide order was set to expire.
