A slightly unusual injury report this week in that it’s got a bunch of quarterbacks on it, so let’s start there.
Only two names are genuinely relevant for fantasy football, Matthew Stafford and Teddy Bridgewater, whose teams happen to be playing each other. Stafford has a torn ligament in the thumb on his throwing hand. He is expected to play, but with his No. 1 receiver, Kenny Golladay, out this week, he’s not a great fit for any lineup. We got some optimistic news about Bridgewater on Friday, but we might not know his status until Sunday morning.
Mike Davis has at least another week to lead the Panthers backfield with McCaffrey out. The Lions offense will have even more trouble without Swift this week too. Damien Harris is expected to play when the Patriots take on the Texans. He’ll have some competition for carries with Sony Michel back in action though.
Sammy Watkins looked fine early this week, but he was added to the injury report on Thursday with a calf issue. He was ruled out on Saturday afternoon. Allen Lazard could play this week, but he’s no more than a WR4 against the Colts defense if he does suit up for the Packers.
