FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Due to COVID-19 cases within several programs, management at The SportONE Parkview Icehouse will temporarily close.

The Icehouse closed on October 23 and will remain closed till November 3rd.

That means no practices or home games for travel or select hockey, high school hockey and other leagues associated with the Icehouse.

General Manager Jake Ramsey said it was difficult but a necessary decision.

"We thought the 10-day break would give us time to recoup and maybe everyone realizes that it's still a thing,” Ramsey said. “We still got to be safe."

He also said they will have to change the schedules for several teams.

"We're not doing this for fun or anything,” Ramsey said. “We don't want to do it."

Fort Wayne Spacemen head coach Kaleigh Schrock had similar feelings when keeping everyone safe.

He told Fort Wayne's NBC none of his players have tested positive for COVID-19 but they are tested regularly. Schrock said everyone’s safety comes first.

"I think your first reaction is for the staff and customers who have tested positive right,” he said. “I mean this is a serious thing."

Ramsey said anyone without a mask will be asked to leave.

They only allow 100 fans on each of their three rinks.

He said management notified players families that they're now only allowing two people per family to come to games.
