The boys of fall hosted Idalia in the season’s first league contest. Arickaree/Woodlin fell behind early, trailing 0-12 after the opening quarter. The Indian Mustang defense showed up big out of the break and posted a shutout in the second half. Arickaree/Woodlin cut the game to 10 points in the third quarter and made it a 21-31 contest. Time wasn’t on their side, as the local boys were able to add just six in the final period. A comeback wasn’t in the cards and the Indian Mustangs fell 27-31.
We had a horrible first half, playing and coaching. In the second half, I saw the heart these young men have. We had a chance to win and just fell short. We’ve got to keep working and put a complete game together against a 1-1 Weldon Valley team this week,” Coach Paul Griese said.

Junior Samuel Koolstra completed two of three passes for minus four yards and gained 116 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.
