USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball has added two assistant coaches, announced today by head coach Joe Scott.  Maj. Marc Holum and Cam Griffin complete Scott's staff for the 2020-21 season.

"I am excited to have Marc and Cam join our staff," Scott said.  "Having former players on our staff will be extremely helpful and beneficial to our players, both on and off the court.  Their collective experiences as part of championship teams will help bolster the process of revitalizing the program."

Holum is a 2006 USAFA graduate and played for Scott as a freshman and sophomore.  He was a four-year letter winner at Air Force and was a team captain on the 2005-06 NCAA Tournament Team that finished 24-7, which is still the best record in program history.  Holum played in 72 career games for the Falcons.

Upon graduation from the Academy with a degree in Social Science, Holum was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.  Following that assignment, he returned to USAFA to work at the Prep School.  While on active duty, Holum played for the All-Air Force basketball team, helping to lead the team to a Gold Medal finish in the 2006 All-Services National Championship.  In 2008, he played with Athletes in Action. His team went 7-1 playing against collegiate and professional teams in East Asia.

Holum comes to the Academy from the Air Force Academy Preparatory School basketball team, where he was the associate head coach.  Holum helped the program to a 268-93 record during his time with the program, coaching many of the players that would go on to play at Air Force.  In addition to his Prep School duties, Holum was a member of the 2019 All-Air Force Men's Basketball team staff as an assistant coach.  He was selected to be the head coach of the 2020 All-Air Force team (All-Services National Championship cancelled).

Griffin played four seasons (2011-15) at the University of Denver under Scott, who was then-head coach of the Pioneers. He played in 102 games, including 56 starts. During his four seasons with the Pioneers, the team went 72-52 and made the NIT tournament in 2012-2013, en route to the program's first-ever postseason win against Ohio University. Griffin was named team captain his junior and senior seasons.  Despite being just 6-foot-4, Griffin led DU in rebounding in both his junior and senior seasons, averaging 5.8 and 6.1 rebounds per game. Griffin finished with 141 career steals, tying him for seventh on the all-time steals list at Denver.

After his four years at Denver, Griffin played two seasons in the NBA's G League with one season with the Texas Legends (2015-16) and one season with the Reno Bighorns (2016-17).

Griffin began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Abilene Christian University, where he was part of a staff that guided the Wildcats to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and tied the school record for wins in a season (27).  He most recently comes to the Academy from Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., where he was an assistant coach last season.
